张羽

Zhang Yu was born in 1959, China, is an advocate and one of the leaders of non-representational ink painting. By keeping the traditional techniques of ink painting, layer by layer, he tinted ink and produced new imagery, a depiction of Chinese ancient philosophy or Yin-Yang or the explanation of the universe. His series, Divine Light, painted exquisitely and meticulously, revealed the consciousness of the universe. Later, he experimented with mixed media and made collage painting by using newspapers, pencils, white paint, and the like. The News series consists of his new experimental works. He not only broadened the scope of the medium, but the subjects as well.
